Sometimes your house smells and it’s not even your fault. A small room without a window, a sweaty pair of shoes, a heavy meal or the laundry sitting in the basket basket. Sometimes an open window isn’t enough. In these cases it’s handy to have a scented room spray that helps to neutralize the odors and spreads a pleasant scent.
In my case it’s a very easy homemade spray with only four ingredients. I have made this spray several times, always with different scents. Just the ones I felt like at the time.
For this recipe you need a spray bottle, I like ones made of glass the most because I feel like the product is cleaner and lasts longer in a glass bottle.
Ok let’s get to it. For the recipe you need:
A spray bottle ( I use 500 ml glass ones)
300 ml clean, still water
100 ml clear alkohol (some cheap clear alk from the supermarket should do the trick)
Put the water and the alkohol in the spray bottle, add the baking soda and shake it until the baking soda has dissolved. Add a few drops of the essential oil of your choice.
I personally like calming scents like sage or lavender
Citrus scents and flower scents help you to get into a good mood and feel comfy in your home. In your bedroom you can choose scents like lavender, which help you to calm down and sleep tight.
You can also use woody scents like sandalwood, I like these in the bathroom.
The alkohol will not affect your breathwork in any way, it vanishes almost instantly after spraying. The alkohol helps to make the spay last longer. For this case you can also use distilled or boiled water to keep the bacterial count in the solution as low as possible, if you don’t want to use alcohol.
